Valerie Mahar

Valerie Mahar, VP of Asset Development at terralayr, leads project development across the company’s BESS portfolio. She is responsible for driving projects from early site identification to ready-to-build status, enabling terralayr’s rollout of a diverse storage portfolio across Germany. Valerie brings over a decade of experience in energy storage, spanning business and project development as well as project execution at IPPs and OEMs in both Europe and the US. She began her career with the pioneering BESS team at AES, contributing to early peaker replacement projects in California, and went on to become a founding member of Fluence, where she closed projects with TSOs, DSOs, and private operators across Europe. Prior to joining terralayr, she led the BESS development team at RWE Renewables, focusing on hybrid and standalone systems across 11 European markets.
