
Julian Hetherington
Julian joined the APC in 2019 Automotive Transformation Director after over 31 years in the automotive industry, initially at Ford then over twenty years at Jaguar Land Rover, most recently as Globalisation Programmes Director where he was responsible for overseas industrialisation programmes.
Experiences in production operations management, industrial automation and controls development and senior roles in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Portfolio Programme Management, Corporate Business Office, Real Estate & Environmental Compliance were followed by international assignments in China and Brazil to establish joint ventures and overseas factories. He has been a passionate advocate for the UK automotive industry when dealing with overseas governments and agencies to promote bilateral investment and trade.
Deep business experience of managing change, business transformation and building new processes, operations, and programmes from the ground up, support his role as Automotive Transformation Director at the APC. Supporting the industrial transformation towards net zero, he is responsible for our Technology Trends and Business Development areas in addition to leading delivery of the Automotive Transformation Fund and is a member of the Department of Business and Trade’s Critical Minerals Task & Finish Group.
